Job Description – Tap Room Marketing Assistant

This position directly assists the Mother Earth Marketing Director. The Marketing Assistant is responsible for the creation, coordination, marketing/promotion, and execution of tap room-specific events in addition to the tap room’s general marketing and brand awareness campaigns via digital and print channels. The Marketing Assistant’s goal is to drive physical traffic to Mother Earth’s tap room as well as digital traffic to its various marketing channels. The Marketing assistant is responsible for maintaining Mother Earth's culture and commitment to quality and to assist us in the ongoing effort to attract new customers as well as retain existing ones by creating compelling one-off and recurring events and experiences, and by using innovative marketing channels to inform, educate, and entice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·       Social media management – including but not limited to regular content creation, posting, responding to inquiries and outreach

·       Create compelling content including photos, videos, and graphics that reflect our brand and culture

·       Attract customers through event promotions, promos, and digital marketing efforts

·       Monitor competition and industry trends and generate new and creative event ideas

·       Monitor social insights and metrics and adjust strategies for growth and visibility

·       Creating and distributing email campaigns

·       Schedule and manage entertainment, food trucks, special events, and private events

·       Ongoing and one-off event planning, marketing, and execution

·       Maintain and constantly improve beer knowledge

·       Maintain safety of guests and employees through conflict resolution, de-escalation, and responsible serving practices when applicable

·       Coordinate new product releases

·       Collaborate with other departments as needed to stay informed

·       Foster community interaction and respond to messages/comments in brand voice

·       Support Management as requested and as duties arise

·       Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to health, safety, and alcohol serving when applicable

·       Serve beer when needed

Job Qualifications - Skills and Abilities

·       Ability to maintain a positive, energetic demeanor and attitude 

·       Knowledge of craft beer styles 

·       Basic knowledge of the food and beverage industry

·       Ability to multitask

·       Ability to be effective in a fast-paced working environment

·       Proficiency in role-related software including Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, etc.

·       Ability to deal tactfully with difficult customers

·       Minimum of 6 months of experience in marketing - particularly social media, or related field (brewery/hospitality experience a huge plus!)

·       Strong communication, creativity, and organization skills

·       Passion for craft beer and brewery culture

·       Flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, and nights

·       Must be 21+ with ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods

Job Qualifications - Education and Experience

·       High School Diploma

·       Minimum 6 months food & beverage/restaurant experience with an emphasis on bar/beertending (lead role and above preferred)

·       Active CA ABC RBS certification required up to 30 days after start date

·       Ability to stand for a prolonged period of time

·       Ability to commute to Vista, CA 92081

Job Type: Part-time, 30hrs/wk

Pay: Hourly, Est $24/hr
