Job Description

The Lead Beertender is the senior beertender on the floor and is responsible for serving customers, supporting management, and overseeing general operations. This position is responsible for maintaining Mother Earth's culture and commitment to quality and to assist us in the ongoing effort to bring in new customers as well as retain existing ones through exceptional customer service. NOTE: The Lead will not be managing people directly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·       Assist in the implementation of employee skill development

·       Report inventory of beer, non-beer, and merchandise inventory

·       Quality assurance of all Mother Earth and non-Mother Earth products

·       Tap room cleanliness and sanitation

·       Cash handling and all POS-related transacting

·       Troubleshooting POS and AV issues as they arise

·       Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to health, safety, and alcohol serving

·       Report out-of-stocks and other tap room needs to management

·       Maintain and constantly improve beer knowledge

·       Maintain safety of guests and employees through conflict resolution, de-escalation, and responsible serving practices 

·       Recommend tap room improvements that lead to increased profitability and/or cost savings

·       Serving patrons and ensuring smooth and efficient operations

·       Coordination of deliveries from Mother Earth production warehouse and other vendors

·       Ensure that guests feel welcomed upon arrival and throughout their experience

·       Assist in merchandise and apparel ordering

·       Coordinate new product releases and ensure beers and equipment are ready to serve

·       Support management and ownership as required and as tasks arise

Job Qualifications - Skills and Abilities

·       Ability to maintain a positive, energetic demeanor and attitude 

·       Thorough knowledge of craft beer styles 

·       Basic understanding of draft systems and ability to troubleshoot dispensing issues

·       Basic knowledge of the food and beverage industry

·       Ability to multitask

·       Ability to be effective in a high-stress, fast-paced working environment

·       Proficiency in all office-related software including Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, and Adobe Acrobat

·       Ability to deal tactfully with difficult customers

Job Qualifications - Education and Experience

·       High School Diploma

·       Minimum 2 years food & beverage/restaurant experience (lead role preferred)

·       Cicerone level 1 preferred

·       Active CA ABC RBS certification required (or obtained within 30 days of employement)

Job Qualifications - Physical Requirements

·       Ability to remain in a seated position for a prolonged period of time

·       Ability to stand for a prolonged period of time

·       Ability to actively walk the tap room and surrounding areas

·       Ability to commute to Vista, CA 92081

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Hourly, Est $24-30/hr (total, after base + tips)
