Fresh hop season is finally here, and we couldn’t be more excited to share not one, but two limited-time releases with you. We’re rolling out “Fresh as it Gets” Fresh Hop IPA and the latest addition to our Project X Series, Mystical Misfit. Both beers showcase what we love most about brewing — creativity, seasonality, and unforgettable flavor.

What is Fresh Hop Beer?

If you’re new to fresh hop beers, they’re some of the most exciting and limited releases of the year. Unlike typical beers brewed with dried or pelletized hops, fresh hop beer is brewed with hops that go straight from the field into the kettle — often within 24 hours, but in our case within an hour of being picked. The result is a burst of bright, vibrant flavors you can only capture during harvest season. Fresh hop season only comes once a year, and for us, it’s about more than just brewing a beer — it’s about honoring the harvest. Using hops straight from the field lets us showcase the ingredient in its purest form. The flavors are brighter, the aromas are more intense, and the experience of drinking a fresh hop beer connects you directly to the season.

Fresh as it Gets: Our True Fresh Hop Beer Experience

Every year, we look forward to brewing fresh hop beer, and Fresh as it Gets is our way of capturing the fleeting magic of the harvest. This year’s release is crafted with freshly picked Simcoe hops, which deliver bright citrus zest, juicy stone fruit, and a subtle pine undertone. The combination creates a bold yet balanced IPA with passionfruit and apricot aromas, a crisp citrus bite, and just the right touch of earthy resin to keep hop lovers coming back.

This beer has a pedigree, too — the recipe earned a medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). Reimagined with just-harvested hops, Fresh as it Gets truly lives up to its name.

As our Brewmaster, Chris Baker, puts it:

“What makes our fresh hop beers unique is the proximity to the hop fields. We can have the hops in the kettle in under an hour, hence the name. Getting it from harvest to the brewhouse is huge in minimizing oxidation and really getting the full expression of the raw ingredient with minimal processing.”

Mystical Misfit: The New Face of Project X

While Fresh as it Gets is all about tradition and seasonality, Mystical Misfit brings a fresh twist to our rotating Project X Series. This hazy IPA builds on Simcoe’s juicy base with the addition of Galaxy and Nelson hops, creating a trifecta of tropical, citrus, and wine-like flavors that make each sip pop.

To match the beer’s bold character, we collaborated with digital artist Emerald Bay, whose vibrant artwork brings Mystical Misfit’s label to life. It’s a beer that’s as visually stunning as it is delicious.

How to Find Them

Both Fresh as it Gets and Mystical Misfit are rolling out now through October in limited quantities at our taprooms and through our distribution network in 16oz cans and on draft. You can find them near you using our Beer Finder.

We’re also throwing our Fresh Hop Party on October 18th at all three of our tap rooms, where you’ll be able to enjoy Fresh as it Gets alongside several other small-batch fresh hop brews. It’s our way of celebrating one of the most exciting times of year in craft beer.

Celebrate Fresh Hop Beer Season With Us

For us, fresh hop brewing is more than a tradition — it’s a way to showcase hops in their purest, most expressive form. Fresh as it Gets captures the best of the harvest, while Mystical Misfit shows what happens when we push creativity with big flavors and imaginative design. We can’t wait for you to try them both and join us in celebrating fresh hop beer season.

Fresh hop season always brings some of the most vibrant flavors, so this release sounds exciting—those super green, just-picked hop notes really hit different when they’re done right. I’m curious how “Mystical Misfit” leans in terms of bitterness vs aroma. On a side note, reading about seasonal releases reminded me how planning ahead makes experiences smoother in general. Same goes for travel—like in Dubai, where I once had to quickly check my transit balance before hopping on the metro. This guide helped me at the time: https://nolcardscheck.ae/ surprisingly handy when you’re on the go.

This is such an exciting release, especially for fresh hop season. The way you’ve described the flavor profiles and the connection to the harvest really makes these beers stand out. I also love how the visual presentation and label artwork add to the overall experience, especially with creative collaborations like this. For those who enjoy collecting or sharing visual inspiration, tools like a VSCO image downloader can be useful for saving and organizing high-quality designs and creative references.

Fresh hop season always brings a burst of flavor, and it’s interesting to see how breweries optimize every step to get consistent results—almost like precision matters in other hobbies too. Speaking of precision, I’ve been exploring Orca Slicer, a free 3D printing software that translates digital models into highly accurate prints. It handles calibration, multi-material setups here https://orcaslicer.pro/, and even error detection automatically, which reminds me of the attention to detail brewers put into their batches. If anyone’s curious about experimenting with precise 3D printing or creating custom tools for home brewing.
